János Cserbik

János Cserbik

Pastor

As a husband and father of two, I aim to focus on the practical questions of life, in the hope of solution. I am especially thankful for the one and a half decades I could spend ministering to afflicted people (homeless people, psychologically wounded people, addicts). Experiencing the ups and downs of a helping profession gave meaning to my theoretical knowledge in theology and pedagogy. When I think of the decades spent either as a pastor or at another responsible position, I am thankful to my Father in heaven for his patient refining-chiseling work.

Róbert Ördög

Róbert Ördög

Pastor

I am secretary and treasurer of the Vojvodina Conference in Serbia, and at the same time, I am also the Youth Ministries leader at the Conference, and I strongly believe that this is the most beautiful part of my ministry. Youth Ministry is especially important for me; I always wonder how we can lead young people to Christ.
Together with my wife, Judit, I aim to foster the spiritual growth of Hungarians in Vojvodina. As a father of four (Daniella, Dániel, Anita, Attila) and a grandpa of three (Lilly, Roberto, Nia), I am busy supporting Christian families and catering for their needs.

Márton Hegyi, Dr.

Márton Hegyi, Dr.

Assistant-scoutmaster, vet

I have been a scout leader since I was fourteen, this is my fourth year in the 431st Huenergardt János Frigyes Scout Group. I am the assistant patrol-leader of the nine-member Hód (Beaver) Patrol, consisting of 13–16-year-old boys, which is part of the above-mentioned scout group.
My scout leader colleagues elected me last September the president of the Adventist spiritual community of the Hungarian Scout Association called Tábortűz (Campfire).
I got baptized together with my wife in 2012. Since then, we have lived with our two sons in my hometown, Hódmezővásárhely.

Csaba Péter Kassai

Scout master, theologian, scout group leader

When I was young, I started out as a talented sportsman: I participated in competitions, then I got involved in a motorbike gang, where unlawful acitivites were common. However, God took me out of that in an adventurous way, and gave me the opportunity of getting to know Christianism that I had hated before. God seized me; I got baptized in 1992, the next year I got married and I made the scout-promise in the same year. With my wife, I have been serving in multiple fields of ministry in the church – wherever God called us. At the moment, I serve in the re-organized Huenergardt János Frigyes Scout Group with my wife and four children: the youngest is a cub, the eldest serves as a patrol-leader.
At present, I am the scout leader of the Hungarian Union of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, I represent the Hungarian Adventist scout groups here.

Seminars

How to have a sharp mind and balanced emotions?

Jan-Harry Cabungcal

Most, if not all, desire a sharp mind, but this can be made easier when certain fundamental elements are followed. The workshop will deal with the fundamental elements that we have learned from the scientific work over the years. You will be surprised to learn that many of the pre-requisites are founded in the word of God and the spirit of prophecy. This workshop would be particularly informative to couples planning to have children in these last days. Come and learn more about how we can have a sharp mind and balanced emotions.

Babel of Finance

Kraig Harnett

Have you realized how finance seems to rule the world? Who are the main players behind the scenes? What kind of impact does it have on the Adventist understanding of prophecy? Come and see final events clearly with this study.

Closely in Christ

János Cserbik

Re-exploring Christ and His righteousness was one of the most beautiful and painful chapters of Adventist church history. The year 1888 – the Minneapolis Conference – with its background and aftermath, was just like our situation nowadays: questions of identity, mission, fraternity, signs of the times – ambition, conflicts, spirituality and community.
It’s about lessons to learn and it’s about victories as well – so that by contemplating them we draw closer to Him and to each other. As close as possible.

Voyage to Self-Knowledge Land – Our mission for the people of today

János Cserbik

The people of today are fed up with theories and formulas. They are interested in what really works. They would like to understand themselves, their relationships, the world. The Gospel gives an answer to that: “Blessed are those...”, “Love the Lord...and your neighbour...”, “I will come again and receive you unto myself....”.
How can we translate the Gospel to the language of everyday people without loss? What can the good news say to those who have never heard about the Bible?
Interactive powerpoint presentation conferring scientific discoveries, age-old teachings of the Bible and personal experiences.

Prepare to meet your God – How? How can I share it with others?

Róbert Ördög

The biggest question for us is how to prepare to meet God. It has a special importance to young people. We are waiting for Christ’s return, but if we had the opportunity to choose, we would probably tick the “a bit later” box. Preparation and spiritual growth is often described as staircase, having different phases, but then it resembles a course: we attend the course, cram the material, acquire certain practical skills and then we graduate and become professionals. How does it work in spiritual matters? What is our job and what is the role of the Holy Spirit in this process? What does it mean for a young person to grow spiritually and to be born again? Can it be separated from an active sense of mission? I prepare to meet God, but how can I share it with others?
I would like to encourage young people with my experiences that shaped my faith and strengthened me in my ministry (although I never wanted to be a pastor and refused every call...), and deepened my devotion towards missionary work.

13+1 things you have always wanted to ask about scouting, but never dared to ask – What can Jesus use scouting for? And what can you use it for?

Márton Hegyi, Dr. – Csaba Péter Kassai

Interesting and surprising questions and answers about scouting, in a playful way. Why is scouting the strongest youth ministry in the church? This is a hobby with a significance for eternal life: scouting is the joyful way of becoming a disciple and making disciples of others.
